Most scratching posts are vertical and most cats, given the choice, scratch along the ground. That is why the carpet by the door goes before the post ever does.

The ClawBoard Sisal Catnip Scratcher is the flat version — a curved board wrapped in tightly woven sisal with organic catnip pressed into the fibres, so it sits on the floor where cats already want to drag their claws.

Light enough to be dragged around, firm enough to be scratched hard, and soft enough on top to be slept on afterwards. Choose small or large, in packs of one, two or three.

Good to Know

🪢 Surface: tightly woven sisal, no-shed fibres
🌿 Catnip: A-grade organic, worked into the shell
📏 Sizes: small or large
📦 Packs: 1, 2 or 3 pieces
🧵 Edges: double-stitched

Why You'll Love It

↔️ Horizontal, The Way Cats Actually Scratch
Watch a cat on a rug and the stretch goes forwards, not upwards. A board on the floor matches that and gets used without any persuading.

🌿 Strong Catnip, Properly Inside
The catnip is pressed into the sisal rather than dusted on the surface, so the scent survives the first few sessions.

🧹 No-Shed Sisal
Cheap sisal leaves a trail of fibre across the floor. This is woven tight enough that it comes apart slowly, in one piece.

🛋 It Buys Back Your Furniture
Put one where the scratching already happens — beside the sofa, by the door — rather than in the corner where you would prefer it to be.

😴 Scratch, Then Sleep On It
The curve gives them something to lie along once the scratching is done. Most cats end up using it as a bed as much as a scratcher.

🦷 Chewed As Well As Scratched
The woven texture gets bitten and scraped, which rubs along the gums. A side benefit, but a real one for an indoor cat.

📦 Buy Two, Not One
Cats scratch where they already are. Two boards in two rooms beat one perfect board in the wrong room.

🪶 Light Enough To Move
It gets shoved around the floor during use, which cats seem to like, and lifts with one hand when you are hoovering.

🐈‍⬛ Kittens And Older Cats
No climbing and no height involved, so it suits an arthritic cat as well as a kitten still working out what claws are for.

🧶 Double-Stitched Edges
The corners are where these usually fail first. Reinforced stitching keeps the sisal from unravelling at the ends.

Where To Put It

Next to whatever they are currently ruining. Cats scratch after sleeping and when you come home, so beside the bed and beside the front door are the two places that work.

Sprinkle a little of the loose catnip on top for the first day. After that it looks after itself.

Claws here, not on the sofa 🐾
