Riding out in winter means riding in the dark, often on lanes with no pavement and drivers who are not expecting a horse. A hi-vis tabard helps once headlights reach you. The problem is the distance before that.

The NightRider LED Horse Light Set puts light on the horse itself rather than only on the rider. A lit chest strap marks the front, a glowing tail piece marks the back, and leg bands pick out the movement that a driver recognises long before they work out the shape.

Everything is nylon webbing with a reflective stripe woven in, so the set keeps working as plain reflective tack even with the lights switched off.

Why You'll Love It

๐Ÿ’ก Lit From Three Angles
Chest, legs and tail cover the front, the sides and the rear. A single strap leaves one of those dark, and that is usually the direction the car comes from.

๐Ÿฆต Movement Is What Gets Noticed
Lights on the legs rise and fall with the stride. Drivers pick up moving light far sooner than a static point, which buys distance on an unlit road.

๐Ÿ”† Three Modes
Steady light reads as a vehicle and is easier on a nervous horse; fast flash demands attention at a junction. Slow flash sits between the two for ordinary lane work.

๐ŸŽจ Blue, Red or Green
All three are bright against a dark hedgerow. Red at the rear and a lighter colour at the front is the convention most riders settle on.

๐Ÿ”ง Adjustable Throughout
Sliding buckles on every strap, so the set fits a pony or a hunter without being cut down. It adjusts in seconds with gloves on.

โœจ Reflective Even When Off
A reflective band runs through the webbing, so the set still does something if a battery dies halfway round. That redundancy matters more than it sounds on a dark lane.

๐Ÿ”‹ Replaceable Button Batteries
The cells sit in the switch housings and swap out when they run down. There is no charging cable to forget and no sealed unit to throw away.

๐Ÿด Goes Over Normal Tack
The chest strap clips on like a breastplate and the leg bands fasten above the fetlock. Nothing here replaces your existing tack or interferes with it.

๐ŸŒง๏ธ Nylon Takes the Weather
Webbing and plastic buckles throughout โ€” it comes off the horse, gets wiped down and goes back in the tack room.

๐Ÿšœ Also for the Yard
The same set is worth having for leading in and out in the dark, or for turning out on a winter afternoon that goes dark faster than planned.

Be Seen Long Before You Are Close

Fit the leg bands snugly enough that they do not rotate, but loose enough to slide a finger underneath. Check them again after the first few minutes of walking.

Switch the lights on before you leave the yard rather than at the road โ€” the stretch between the two is usually the darkest part of the ride.
